Are you passionate about local politics? Are you interested in hands-on experience in campaign management, strategy, and messaging? Aura Vasquez for Los Angeles City Council Campaign seeks talented, committed people to work with us on a cutting-edge political campaign.

Aura's campaign embraces the power of local action as Los Angeles confronts an array of daunting obstacles. Join us in reshaping our city's trajectory. Our current representatives have fallen short, demanding that we step up. A city riddled with corruption, inefficiency, and misuse of resources... If not us, then who? Let's rise to this challenge together and join Aura Vasquez's campaign for City Council. We take applications on an outgoing basis till November of 2024.

Aura Vasquez: is an Afro-Latina immigrant, community organizer, and fearless environmental and social justice advocate—a voice for people whose voices have been unheard.

Aura brings a closeness to the Earth and a multicultural perspective to her mission.

As a protector of the environment, Aura helped ban single-use plastic bags and was the mastermind in the 'Beyond Coal Campaign, which resulted in a commitment by the City of Los Angeles to go coal-free by 2025. As a community organizer, she championed immigrant rights and education funding with the PICO Network.

When Mayor Eric Garcetti appointed her to the Board of Commissioners of the L.A. Department of Water and Power, Aura became the first immigrant and the youngest to serve in this role in Los Angeles. As a Commissioner, the first in the history of the LADWP to establish office hours, she supported millions in investments in energy efficiency, solar and electric vehicle programs, and incentives to lower power bills for all residents. Her leadership was instrumental in retiring three coastal gas plants, putting L.A. on track to reach 100% renewable energy by 2030.

Aura has a consulting business with more than ten years of experience with organizations and the private sector, winning policies that transform communities. She is currently running to be the first Afro-Latina to represent Los Angeles City Council District 10.
